This unit was located on the first floor, within the shopping centre itself and it was to become a high-end clothing store outlet for a well known brand.
The logistics and paperwork (Risk assessments & Method Statement) were a nightmare. Nevertheless, the work was carried out and completed within the established timeframe.
The client obtained an empty double fronted retail unit, approx. 120 SQM-large. It involved a complete strip out and removal of a structural partition wall.
This stage of the project took almost a month to complete on its own, liaising with the structural engineers, building control, the shopping centre management and finally carrying out the work.
Once stripped, the first fix was relatively straightforward after carrying all the materials up to the first floor from the basement car park.
Apart from the standard 2 nd fix items such as lighting, paint, flooring etc, we were required to put together and install bespoke unitary delivered from the company’s head office in Holland.
What arrived was around 200 flat pack boxes from IKEA with very limited instructions – members of the fitting team were very pleased.
Nevertheless, everything was completed and the opening took place on the pre-planned day without delay.
What client say
